Are you interested in growing your skills in mentoring undergraduate students in STEM research settings? In this learning community, we will discuss evidence-based mentorship practices by discussing the literature, talking through case studies and discussion questions, and reflecting on your own mentorship practice. We will discuss how to maintain effective communication, align expectations, assess a mentee’s understanding, address equity and inclusion in the mentoring relationship, foster mentee independence, promote their professional development, and articulate your mentoring philosophy and plan.
