SOM Global Network of Advanced Management

Throughout the academic year 2013-14, SOM inaugurated two online courses in which its students joined with students from the business schools in SOM’s twenty-five-member Global Network for Advanced Management. All four courses (Analysis of Competition Law and Enforcement across Countries, New Product Development, Natural Capital: Managing Risks and Capturing Opportunities in Global Resource Systems, and Mobile Banking Opportunities across Countries) have regional nuances, so the perspectives of the students participating from Asia, Europe, and South America contribute to SOM students’ understanding. Also, the courses are organized with project teams, each with students from the various schools. For three of these first four pilot courses, SOM shouldered the teaching responsibilities. But the New Product Development course was taught by a Technion faculty member from Israel. Several schools in the Global Network have signaled interest in teaching an online course next semester.
