Why write a science blog? Blogging is a versatile and powerful platform. It allows you to promote your own research, explore scientific ideas not yet concretely tied to your work, and communicate science to a non-expert audience. It can also help you explore the relationship between science, society, and policy. This workshop will provide you with key guidelines on how to create a blog, what kind of content to write, how to style your blog, and how to promote it. Examples from prominent science writers will form the basis of our interactive discussion. You will leave with concrete avenues to start writing for a broader audience!
