Do you feel your students are uncomfortable or unfamiliar with your field’s approach to religion? How does religion shape our goals and expectations for our students? This ATW will focus on the challenges religion can bring to our classrooms and the strategies and approaches for productive conversations about religion. Topics will include how to give your students the structure and permission to engage deeply, how to balance critical distance and empathy, and how to have productive (sometimes difficult) conversations (and why we have them). Please contact Marissa Moore (marissa.moore@yale.edu) or Tyler Smith (tyler.s.smith@yale.edu) if you have further questions.

This ATW fulfills a Diversity requirement for the CCTP.
