Academic Job Search Series: Writing Diversity Statements (day session)

Event Description

This workshop will offer strategies on how to write a diversity statement that can both ring true and be effective when writing your job applications. We will address the following: What is a diversity statement? What differentiates it from a personal statement? How might a committee use a diversity statement to evaluate an applicant’s qualifications and assets? Should you always write one if asked? By working through clear definitions, reflective activities, and examples from the field, this workshop will help you consider how your professional and personal experiences have prepared you to contribute to diversity of thought in institutions of higher learning. Because this is an interactive workshop, attendance will need to be capped at 40 attendees. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes early to reserve a seat.
