Fellows are trained in May, August, and throughout the academic year, and are provided resources during the workshop preparation process.
Graduate Writing Consultants lead individual writing consultations and facilitate small (4-6 people) peer-review groups. They provide feedback to students’ writing and discuss strategies to make their writing better. In addition, Graduate Writing Consultants assist McDougal Writing Fellows with writing events and writing retreats. Writing Consultants are trained and participate in biweekly discussion sessions to improve their consultation skills.
