Lauren Gonzalez
Lauren is the Graduate Writing Lab’s Assistant Director of Scientific Communication, helping graduate students communicate their research to audiences of all kinds. Lauren received her PhD in Genetics from Yale in 2021 and spent two years as a Research Development Fellow, mentoring writers and supporting manuscript and grant writing for the Greco and Reinke labs at Yale. Alongside her research experience in developmental and molecular biology, Lauren has experience supporting fellow writers extending back to her time as an undergraduate writing consultant at Claremont McKenna College and including four years working as a Writing Fellow in the Graduate Writing Lab. Lauren is also passionate about advancing scientific communication by cultivating a balanced sense of responsibility and creativity within the scientific community, and has done this by facilitating discussions and workshops around inclusive scientific communication and adapting approaches from art and music to scientific inquiry.
