Anya Adair is a fourth-year graduate student in the Department of English Language and Literature. Her research examines the composition of medieval statute law from the Anglo-Saxon period to the reign of Henry VIII. Anya holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne in Australia, and graduate degrees in English from Melbourne and the University of Oxford, giving her plenty of experience writing in a range of genres and varieties of English. Anya has taught both non-fiction and creative writing in the English Department at Yale; this year she will co-teach The History of the English Language. In Australia, she lectured in medieval literature, as well as teaching high school English. The CTL is the perfect place for Anya to immerse herself in what she loves: the intricacies of the English language, its challenges, and its potential. Anya is eager to share her passion for teaching through the Center’s programs.
