Using Rubrics and Grading

Audience

Graduate & Professional Students, Postdoctoral Fellows

Event Time

Thursday, November 10, 2016 - 4:00pm to 5:30pm

Event Description

Why do we grade? What kind of feedback would really help your students to improve? How can you grade efficiently while being fair and consistent? In this workshop, we’ll discuss different kinds of assessment and grading schemes. We’ll also work through sample rubrics and other strategies, thinking about how they can be used as tools for communication with your students. Finally, we’ll consider problems you might encounter while grading and what to do about them.
