What does it mean to be an effective teacher and mentor? What sorts of strategies should be employed to serve as a mentor, especially in a hands-on environment like a laboratory? Is mentoring new students a valuable strategy, or is better to let them figure things out on their own? If these sorts of questions interest you, then you should consider attending our advanced teaching workshop (ATW) focused on discussing techniques and strategies to be an effective teacher and mentor in a laboratory environment. This ATW can also be used to fulfill a requirement for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP)!
