Patterns of multiple representation use by experts and novices during physics problem solving

Event Description

The STEM Education Journal Club provides the opportunity to discuss a relevant article in preparation for the upcoming seminar in the series. This journal club is facilitated by Zosia Krusberg.

Selected Article: “Patterns of multiple representation use by experts and novices during physics problem solving”.

As Zosia writes, “In this paper, Kohl and Finkelstein investigate how experts and novices differ in their use of multiple representations (such as words, pictures, diagrams, graphs, and equations) in physics problem solving.  The authors analyze the differences between the two groups and discuss possible implications for problem-solving instruction.” To be sent the article and included in the head count for dinner, please register for the journal club.

The STEM Education Seminar & Journal Club Series is sponsored by the Helmsley Charitable Trust.
