Lecturing sets the stage and the narrative for the class and provides you with an opportunity to show off your passion for the subject as well as your personality to which your students can connect. Lecturing also serves as an efficient form of summarizing and clarifying complex concepts. Here at the CTL, we strongly support student-centered teaching, which often emphasizes active learning activities and a shift away from lecturing. However, lecturing is still an important tool in a teacher’s toolbox. In this workshop we will discuss approaches and strategies to create and deliver engaging lectures.
