Do you know what teaching is? OK, but what about learning? Do you want to improve your students’ motivation and help them become self-directed learners? Are you interested in identifying the factors that impact student development? In this two-part workshop, we will consider an evidence-based approach to college teaching so that you can make decisions in your classroom that are grounded in research-based theory. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of evidence-based cognitive theory (how people learn) and its application to our classroom (how we can help people learn). Participants will gain a set of 7 concrete principles they can implement in their classrooms right away. Please contact Larry Bowman or Sara Sanchez Alonso if you have further questions.
