Event Description

In the Advanced Teaching Workshop: Gender in the Classroom, participants will take a deeper dive into structural concerns of gender and identity in teaching, and in our institutions and academic spaces. This workshop is designed for those with substantial previous experience working with this subject, or those who took the ITW earlier this semester. We will consider theoretical approaches to gender’s role in learning environments and the challenges and opportunities in practically integrating these materials into our teaching.

Please note: Advanced Teaching Workshops (ATWs) count toward the requirements for the Certificate of College Teaching Preparation (CCTP). ATWs are designed as deeper dives into a given topic, and are especially appropriate for participants with prior experience. If you are new to the subject matter, you may be more comfortable starting with the ITW on “Gender in the Classroom” or “Identity in the Classroom,” but this is not required.

This workshop will be held in person.
