Two people discuss workshop materials during the S.I. in the TEAL classroom

The 2017 Yale Summer Institute at the Center for Teaching and Learning is designed to help instructors:

  • Examine principles of how people learn and apply them to teaching
  • Identify assessment strategies to strengthen connections between student learning and course assignments
  • Identify and refine components of classes that could be made more inclusive
  • Identify strategic actions to strengthen the culture of teaching and learning at Yale

Dr. Jennifer Frederick, Executive Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning, and Dr. Nancy Niemi, Director of Faculty Teaching Initiatives, will lead the 2017 Summer Institute on Course (Re)Design. The institute will include workshop sessions by expert guests and facilitation by CTL professionals. A detailed schedule is forthcoming.

Date: May 15 - May 17

Time: 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday; 8:30 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday

Due to an overwhelmingly positive response from the community, we have closed the Institute to additional registrants. The CTL plans to notify selected participants by April 24.
