Through Thursday, January 25: Contact us directly at academicstrategies@yale.edu to request an appointment.

Starting Sunday, January 28: Mentors will be available on a regular schedule for individual consultations Sundays through Thursdays during the afternoon and evening. To register and reserve a 60-minute consultation, click here: Academic Strategies Mentor Schedule. (Meetings can be reserved starting Friday, January 26.)

If none of the available times on the schedule work for you, or if you would like to set up a regular meeting with the same mentor, please email us at academicstrategies@yale.edu.

About our 1-1 consultations

Each student’s goals, responsibilities, and challenges are unique. An individual meeting with a peer academic mentor can help you identify and focus on your goals and develop the strategies that work best for you.

Here’s what happens in our individual meetings: You’ll spend a few minutes getting acquainted with your mentor. Then the mentor will invite you to talk about the questions on which you are seeking advice. You’ll discuss what has worked well for you previously, and brainstorm with the mentor new approaches to try. At the end of the session, you’ll create a plan for implementing the new strategies you’ve discussed, and set up a future check-in appointment with the same mentor.

All meetings take place in our new meeting space on the mezzanine of the Yale Center for Teaching and Learning on the York Street side of Sterling Memorial Library.
